About Me

I am a Research Engineer at Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), affiliated with the SPriNT-AI Lab (Security, Privacy and Trustworthiness in Artificial Intelligence) and the CERT Lab (Collaboration, Efficiency, Responsibility and Trust). I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. Karthik Nandakumar and co-advised by Prof. Praneeth Vepakomma, and also fortunate to collaborate closely with Fahad Shamshad.

I recently obtained my Master’s degree in Computer Vision from MBZUAI, under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Haris Khan and Prof. Karthik Nandakumar. Prior to that, I pursued my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur (NIT Durgapur). I have also worked as a research intern with Prof. Ram Sarkar at Jadavpur University.

Research Interests

I work at the intersection of Computer Vision, Biometrics, and Privacy, developing models and methods to prevent the misuse of personal data in identity-aware applications. Broadly, I am interested in building AI systems that are secure, efficient, and applicable in real-world scenarios rather than remaining confined to code and conferences without practical application.

Previously, I focused on calibrating Medical Vision-Language Models (Med-VLMs) to improve the trustworthiness of their confidence estimates and ensure safer deployment in high-stakes domains such as healthcare.

• [April. 2025] Won Best Poster Presentation Award at MBZUAI Research Symposium 2025 among 50+ PhD & MSc submissions from ML, CV, NLP and Robotics departments, based on my master’s thesis work.

• [Nov. 2023] Our paper “Lung Cancer Detection from Thoracic CT Scans using an Ensemble of Deep Learning Models.” got accepted at Neural Computing and Applications, Springer.
• [Aug 2023] Commenced Master of Science in Computer Vision at Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and awarded a Fully funded master’s scholarship valued at ~150,000 USD.
• [June 2023] Our paper “An Ensemble of UNet Frameworks for Lung Nodule Segmentation.” was published in the book series Current Problems in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and Systems
• [June 2023] Concluded Research Internship under Prof. Ram Sarkar at Jadavpur University, co-authored four papers on lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.
• [May 2023] I completed my undergraduate studies in Computer Science and Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India with First Class with Distinction.
• [Apr 2023] My BTech Thesis was recognized as one of the Top 2 projects out of 184 submissions in the Computer Science and Engineering department. (Class of 19-23)
• [Oct. 2022] Our paper “An Ensemble of UNet Frameworks for Lung Nodule Segmentation.” got accepted at International Conference on Actual Problems In Applied Mathematics and Computer Science 2022 at Stavropol, Russia for Oral Presentation.
